about

I am a self taught, visual artist who works exclusively from the figure through painting and drawing. My work explores what it is to be human, in particular loss, vulnerability and fragility.

Repetition is important, as is stripping back, exposing and obscuring.  My subjects are often old  family or found photographs. I am interested in the human need to try and capture time and the impossibility of that desire.

I want my paintings to evoke an emotional response in the the viewer and to invite them to explore their own feelings about the fleeting nature of life.
